With an Impact Team, you'll experience a new culture and make a difference overseas with your community from home. Unlike our other short-term trips, Impact Teams are made up of people from within one community, like a school or an organization). We work with you to find the perfect fit for your team, resource you to recruit teammates, and equip your team to thrive on your trip.
On any Engage (short-term) trip, you’ll have the opportunity to improve people’s lives through education, experience a beautiful new culture, and grow in confidence and teaching skill. Going with an Impact Team only adds to those benefits. You’ll have more time to focus on teaching and connecting with students because your team won't need as much runway to learn to work together well. As you experience the culture, you’ll share those memories with people you encounter daily in your life back home. Teammates encourage each other as they grow and help each other live out what they've learned once they head back across the ocean.
The impact of leading a team reaches further than the team members and lasts longer than your time overseas. A team from your school or organization is a visible demonstration of a heart for service. It makes a practical statement about what is most important to your institution. More importantly, it could inspire more people in your community to look for their own opportunities to serve others.
And we hear all the time about how Impact Team members find themselves transformed by their experience. Seeing the beauty of another culture, experiencing the impact of cross-cultural service, and getting a tangible idea of living overseas can even inspire people to consider a whole life of similar service. An Impact Team trip will challenge your team to reach beyond what they've known and get a grounded vision of the impact that's possible through cross-cultural education.
If leading an Impact Team sounds complicated and intimidating, you're not alone. Who has time to work out the logistics of a trip like this? The answer: the ELIC team who does this full time. On your own, you’d have to create the program, coordinate with the community you’ll be serving, do all the paperwork for travel documents, and solve the million unexpected hiccups alone.
Let us help you with the heavy lifting. We’ve been doing it for decades, and we already have the infrastructure in place. We’ll help with the paperwork and planning. You’ll have access to recruiting materials to build your team. You and your teammates will receive training to equip you for the work ahead. Health and safety measures are already in place in case of anything unexpected. We’ll be available every step of the way to answer any questions that arise.
